Floyd’s Baller

HotHouse recently wrapped up the design and illustration the cover of Floyd’s Baller, a young-adult historical fiction novel. The story, co-written by Heather N. Wilde and Adarryl Hunter, draws from Adarryl’s close friendship with George Floyd. The typeface used in the title is called Stop Killing Black People, and it was created by Terresa Hardaway, Phd. of Blackbird Revolt (Minneapolis, MN). Blackbird Revolt also did the title design for Floyd’s Baller.

The Orange Blossom

HotHouse teamed up with Hezzie Mae Publishing and author Jebeh Edmonds to design and illustrate Edmond’s first novella, The Orange Blossom. The illustration was painted in gouache and brought into the digital environment for final adjustments.
